There are two different versions of Mongo Management Studio:
Professional Edition
The Professional Edition is aimed at developers and offers additional features. It is installed via setup routine and does not require software beyond that.
Enterprise Edition
The Enterprise Edition was created for live systems where databases are not directly accessible online. It is a nodejs application, which can deployed on the server without graphical interface. Access to the tool can be managed through the internal user management.
