The user management of the MongoDB is not part of the Community Edition of Mongo Management Studio. |
MongoDB has an integrated user management. This allows you to control the access to the databases and to assign read/write permissions.
In Mongo Management Studio you get access to the user management with a click with the right mouse button tight-clicking on a database name in the left navigation tree and by selecting the option "User Management" in from the opened context menu". It opens a pop up . A popup with a list of existing users of the database with opens and gives the possibility option to edit or delete them. B By clicking on the button on "Add user" a form for a new user a form for a new user appears. A user is getting always gets a Uusername and a Ppassword or a Uusersource. In . Chose the appropriate role from the list of the roles you can select the required one and click on the "Save" button to save the user.
A special case is the admin database, which exists in every MongoDB server instance. There are Some specific roles that are only effective if awarded active, if they have been granted on the admin database. To get Get access to the user management of the admin database click with the right mouse button by right-clicking on the server connection and select the entry selecting "Usermanagement" in from the context menu.

If the server is running in authentication mode and still no global user exists yet, it comes to a an "Auth failed" - error message will be displayed after adding a user. In this case it must be simply re-connected just with the stored user data. |
